miRNA Arrays

The Adelaide Microarray Centre was the first microarray facility in Australia to offer a complete service for microRNA profiling using microarrays.  The 2 alternatives for array based miRNA profiling are from Exiqon or Affymetrix.

Exiqon

 This service is currently based on the Exiqon v8.1 miRNA probeset which contains probes for nearly 1500 miRNA's in over 50 species.  Ideally 2-5 ug of total RNA is required per sample.  Probe details are availabe in the Spotted Arrays section.  Arrays are run dual colour.

Affymetrix

This service is based on the new Affymetrix miRNA Arrays for all species.  These arrays require only 0.5 - 1ug of total RNA per sample.  Arrays are run single colour.

miRNA Validation

ABI Taqman Real Time PCR assays are the gold standard for the measurement of miRNA expression and the centre now has Taqman assays for a large range of miRNA's.  Please contact the centre for more information.
